Summary of Business ISV meeting August 23rd 2022
- Vicsport Child Safe report received and will require an action plan for all events with riders under 18
- Vic Team training successful. Rider bags and team dinner sponsored by Horse in the Box organised.
- Draft dates for Australian Interschool September 27th – October 1st 2023
- Event director for State and Australian Championships 2023 advertised
- ISV committee discussed 3 proposals to replace ride offs at State Championships. Two divisions capped. Decision to allocate a championship in both divisions in the necessary classes and a team place given to the champion in each division in a similar manner to two division in CT classes. Selection to division TBC
- ISV committee set proposed timetable for State Championships considering feedback and other events at a similar time
- State Championships 2022 was a great event but ran at a loss. High cost of generators/first aid contributed. Better use of stables, cater for riders only wanting to attend 1-2 days. Discussed philosophy of the event- championship for the best/inclusive, social and good experience for all. Try to keep it affordable.
- Nan McArthur is biased towards dressage with 2 levels possible. Discussion. This will have further follow up at meetings ensuring principles of the award are not lost.
- Committee considering all interschool event using a uniform scratching policy that is clear to families. Consideration of fees retained by entry platforms. Scratching refunds can impact on event viability
- National Interschool meeting agenda items to be forwarded to EA
- ISV jot form request to go to schools/affiliated groups etc. for 2023 calendar. Need groups to run competitions.
