To be eligible to ride at the State Championships, riders must enter and ride in an Interschool class at an approved event on the ISV calendar, during the period from the State Championships held in April 2022 and up to March 2023.
Participation events may be Interschool specific competitions or approved Interschool classes at EV or EV affiliated club events.
The ISV committee meeting discussed the implications of the two test per day dressage rule. This has impacted on the freestyle tests at the Australian Interschool Championships. The State Championships will attempt to schedule freestyles in April, but there will be no ride offs in two division classes. Ride offs are not ideal at interschool in the view of the committee.
After consideration of several proposals, including qualifying scores to rank entry into any class with predicted entry numbers above 35, the committee has decided that the winners of the overall championship in each division will be allocated the 2023 team positions.
The further, two team positions, in eligible classes, will continue to be decided through the VEIS series.
This will be trialled in 2023 with a review after the championships. The method of selection to divisions, when entry numbers are above 35, will be confirmed.
